Description
This course will cover the unique acute and chronic viral pathophysiology of a COVID-19 infection including downstream effects on the Zang organs and the brain. It covers the wide range of chronic post-viral complications and COVID long-hauler symptoms with an emphasis on potential neurological dysfunction. It provides a model for clinical strategies useful for working with complex cases. This course provides the foundation for understanding how to apply Chinese herbal medicine to patients with ongoing post-COVID complications and is the first course in the series.

- Acute COVID-19 infection pathophysiology
- Production of pathogen associated molecular patterns and damage associated molecular patterns that trigger system-wide inflammation
- Organ dysfunction and associated lab markers
- Neurological disorders following COVID-19 infection
